This week, in an effort to address this deficiency, I propose a morality mnemonic, RSVP, that I hope will be a toolkit my English students can use to include ethics in their critical reading and writing. Kathy Rosengren, who is retiring as Dean of Humanities at Solano Community College, had only been married to her first husband for three years when he suddenly died of a heart attack.
“That, of course, changed my life tremendously,” Kathy remembers. Read the Article
Kathy Rosengren moved here from South Dakota with her new husband in 1970. While neither had a job, California was the place to be, the land of opportunity and change. After interviewing at various colleges, she decided to teach at Vallejo Junior College. . . . Now 37 years later, Solano College serves almost 11,000 students, and Kathy, Dean of Humanities, is trying to retire, which can be hard for someone so dedicated to education.
